What Is "Chi"

What is Chi ?

Ch'i (pronounced "chee") is an electronic energy that can be measured by using a sensitive electro-acupuncture device. Chinese medicine indicates that the body has 12 main channels or "meridians", which function like rivers distributing chi throughout the body.

There are eight extra channels that store and regulate the energy, and generally act as reservoirs. Each channel is connected to an organ and runs to the hands and feet. The energy passes along the channels to nourish and give life to the organs.

Between every one of the major routes there are a countless number of tiny tributaries which interconnect all of the main channels and supply chi to the skin

In traditional Chinese medicine,
chi is the life force that flows through our bodies.

Symptoms of Oxygen Deficiency

Initial symptoms of oxygen deficiency may include overall body weakness, fatigue, circulation problems, poor digestion, muscle aches and pains, dizziness, depression, memory loss, irrational behavior, irritability, acid stomach, and bronchial problems. When the immune system is compromised by a lack of oxygen, our body is more susceptible to opportunistic bacteria, viral, and parasitic infections and colds, as well as flu. Oxygen deprivation can also lead to life-threatening disease, such as cancer. Cancer and most other infections or disease cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment. Dr. Otto Warburg, two-time Nobel Laureate for cancer research, stated:

"Cancer has only one prime cause. It is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of the body's cells by an anaerobic (i.e., oxygen deficient) cell respiration."
