The Chi Machine® is very simple to use. Just lay down on the floor and place your ankles on the ankle rest of The Chi Machine®. Be sure the handle is away from you. Use The Chi Machine® for only 2-5 minutes in the beginning. You can then increase your use by 2 minute increments when you feel comfortable doing so.. ususally after a few sessions. It is VERY important that you
lay perfectly still 2-5 minutes after The Chi Machine®
stops. The reason for this is two-fold.
-
Your "internal organs"
have been (and are being) massaged, therefore 60% of what the machine
accomplishes, happens AFTER the machine stops. So lying still
will help them continue to release the toxins and tone them.
-
The fact that the "chi"
is taking place (a tingling sensation) at this time, you don't want to
move and "stop" it. Also, getting up too soon, you could get
dizzy and you won't like that ! :-)
It is also VERY
important to drink at least 8 oz of water when you do get up. This
will help to flush the toxins that the "massage" has
released.
PLEASE, don't use for more
than 2-5 minutes the first few times... you can gradually increase your
time by 2 minute increments. This is ESPECIALLY the case for
anyone over 55. You may use it as many times a day as you like,
however.
Be sure that you are using the
machine with the ankle rest towards you (in the front of the
machine...handle away from you ). Be sure to wear a pair of socks,
or the ankle rest cushion included with your machine, otherwise you could
get a blister from your ankles rubbing on the plastic. This
is also helpful for those who have small ankles.
Be sure you are lying
perfectly straight. (I place my feet on the sides of the machine on
the floor, not on the ankle rest.. to make sure I am lined up
correctly. Sometimes the ankle rest stops on one or the other
side.. so lining up with your ankles on the ankle rest may not get you
perfectly straight.) If you feel at all uncomfortable, adjust your
body while The Chi Machine® is moving, until you feel comfortable. You
should NOT feel any discomfort.
If your lower back or knees
feel uncomfortable, place a small pillow or a folded hand or
bath towel under your lower back or knees until you are able to use
it without the "support".
Please DO NOT remove your
ankles from the ankle rest when the machine stops, regardless of
what the instructions, enclosed with your machine, say to
do. If you do, you will stop the "Chi Sensation".
Lay perfectly still. Any movement will stop or slow the
"tingling sensation" and you will not get the maximum results.
This is the oxygen being carried to the cells and internal organs. 60%
of what the machine accomplishes, happens AFTER the machine
stops.
Also, prior to getting up, lay
with your feet flat on the floor with your knees in the air.
Slowly (to the count of 5 both going down and back up) lower your knees
to the side, as far as you can, without hurting yourself. Repeat
this procedure to the other side. Stop for the count of 5 both
when your knees are to the side and facing upward. Relax... Repeat
a few times. Be sure to count both going to the floor and back to
the center. This procedure will help to stretch out your back,
prior to getting up. Make sure you do this AFTER you have laid
still for 2-5 minutes, or until the "chi sensation" stops.
